About the SIGs

ATD NY has a number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that provide members the opportunity to connect with other learning professionals around certain interests and activities. SIGs allow members to explore the hot topics of our profession in more depth. Descriptions and contact information is provided below for all of our active SIGs. You may also look for meetings listed in the Events section of this site.

SIGs are a FREE benefit of membership, so Join Now!

Career Development
The mission of the ATD NY Metro Chapter's Career Development SIG is to facilitate active career exploration and preparation for all those interested in a career in professional training, talent development or a related field. The group strives to encourage career development through experiential learning and participant engagement that will lead to sustainable professional and personal development and growth. Through collaboration and partnership with the chapter's executive leadership, its members, and its stakeholders, the group is committed to serving our diverse community with sound knowledge and supportive enthusiasm for professional and personal development.

Coaching
ATD NY’s Coaching Special Interest Group is committed to advancing excellence in coaching. eLearning
The eLearning SIG is where chapter members come together to learn about and share the latest thinking in leveraging technology to enable learning and performance. The eLearning SIG provides a  safe haven to explore ideas and technology in an open, sharing environment. Meetings are held both in person and virtually to provide members the opportunity to gain proficiency and experience in various technologies and tools. We welcome members with all levels of expertise in eLearning and believe that we learn best when we learn together.

2. A forum for sharing the latest thinking, practice and cutting edge research as it relates to coaching and leadership.

Performance Support/Informal Learning
The mission of this SIG is to develop chapter membership understanding of Performance Support and Informal Learning. This SIG strives to provide interactive hands-on learning experiences for participants, provide opportunities to brainstorm PS & IL solutions for job related learning and performance needs, and take a meeting "curriculum" approach that will build upon one another.
Co-Chair: Hal Christensen
