A new generation of IMMERSIVE COMPUTING technologies blurs the lines between digital content and the physical world. Augmented Reality (AR) will soon display a layer of dynamic and personalized content, all positioned perfectly to align with the world around the user. Even today, we are seeing the bold applications that Virtual Reality (VR) is having on education and simulation in fields as varied as microbiology, geography, and construction.

Using straightforward, non-technical language and examples, Futurist John SanGiovanni will explain the core framework that will build this vision of tomorrow, from blue-sky conceptual futures, to the tangible and practical ways that this technology is being used today on major architectural projects worldwide.

For the full experience, attendees (both in-person or via WebEx) can engage in an optional participatory demo during the call, using Virtual Reality via their own mobile phone. (Either way, this session will be eye-opening even without the hands-on demo.)

If you would like to participate in the demo, you’ll need two things:

(1) A simple VR viewer.
Highly recommended is the Homido Mini 3D, which is a VR collapsing phone attachment available for $10 USD from This particular viewer will work in the demo with no configuration necessary. NOTE: If you already have a VR Viewer, you'll just need to adjust some settings in the VisualVocal app. Contact Mark Cassetta ( for more info.

(2) Pre-install the free VisualVocal app on your phone.

No prior experience with VR is needed! The presenter will walk attendees through the step-by-step process to see the VR content by using the viewer. (Again, the viewer device and the app will be required for this portion of the session. Note: Windows Phone and BlackBerry are not supported.)

Join us for a glimpse into the future of learning technologies with this engaging session!
