Two Great New Ideas: TED-style talks on provoking topics that will change how you think about your work.

"The best way to have a good idea is to have a lot of ideas."
— Dr. Linus Pauling

Sometimes the best ideas come from unlikely places.   Join us for an interactive session with two speakers with unique points of view and discuss with your fellow members what these ideas can mean for our work and our profession.

About our Speakers:

Magda Du Preez, PhD: "Are your feelings driving your decisions".  Magda, will reveal the intriguing findings of her latest research that show the influence our feelings have on our decision making.

Dr. Du Preez is a psychologist and management consultant specializing in leadership and team selection and development, transition management, and performance culture building. She is also an adjunct professor of management at Long Island University, teaching executive MBA courses on strategy implementation and organizational development. She holds a master’s degree in psychology from University of the Orange Free State, South Africa, and a PhD in Business at the Wits Business School, Johannesburg, South Africa

Costa Michailidis:   "Attitudes of Great Innovators."  We often hear successful people talk about attitude as being key to their success, but what do they mean specifically? In this interactive session, we will explore curiosity, an attitude which is at the foundation of being innovative.

In 2010, Costa co-founded Innovation Bound to cultivate creativity and innovation across sectors, and to solve new and meaningful problems in the world. He has organized innovation tournaments inside of Fortune 500s, guided NASA’s astrobiology roadmap creation, worked on life science education reform, and contributed to many other projects in science and business. Costa made his first appearance at TEDx at the United Nations in New York in 2013, and continues to speak at conferences and companies on creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship, in order to nurture the type of courage and curiosity that accelerate innovation and drive progress.
