In this workshop you will learn how to brand and pitch yourself to get the most out of any networking opportunity.  It will provide you with the tools necessary to successfully engage at the July networking event with New York Chapters of the Association for Talent Develoment (ATD), Orgnaization Development Network (ODN) and Socieity of Human REsources (SHRM).

Whether you’re marketing yourself for new job opportunities, perfecting your consultant pitch to attract clients, or just want to connect with colleagues in your current role, this workshop is for you. Create opportunities and generate interest with a powerful, concise “30 second pitch” that instantly communicates the value you bring.

The session leads will walk you through the basics of identifying your “brand,” perfecting a memorable personal pitch, and getting the most out of July’s (or any) networking opportunity. Using an action learning approach, you will rehearse your pitch with colleagues, receive objective feedback from our panel speakers, and tweak your pitch before swapping places with your colleague. Sort of a "speed dating" approach to pitch practice. In the process, you will get to network with others in attendance.

If you have a pitch already prepared, feel free to bring it -- otherwise, you can craft one during the workshop (bring something to write with).

About the Facilitators

Robert Hellmann of www.hellmannconsulting.com provides career services to individuals and organizations.  He’s a certified Five O'Clock Club Senior Career and Executive Coach as well as a LinkedIn-Certified Professional Recruiter.

Rob has authored the books Advanced LinkedIn:For Your Job Search, Business and Career and PEAK Presentations. He has delivered hundreds of seminars on Presentation Skills, LinkedIn, Employee Engagement and Career Advancement to diverse organizations including startups, Fortune 500 companies, and educational institutions such as Harvard Business School and Columbia University. In his private coaching practice, Rob has helped countless individuals to achieve career success.

Rob's background includes 20 years of experience in Organizational Development, Finance and Marketing roles at American Express, JP Morgan Chase, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and New York University (as an adjunct professor).  

He has a BS in Economics/Math from Binghamton University and an MBA from Fordham University. Rob is the Co-Chair of the ATD NYC Career Development SIG.

Barbara Phillips is a multi-faceted talent management consultant, transition and executive coach, trainer and facilitator with 20 years of Human Resources and Organization Development experience in world class, global organizations.   

As an independent HR/OD consultant for the past six years, Barbara’s clients include:  Pfizer, Smucker’s, Motorola Solutions, Yale School of Management, Estee Lauder Co., Tyco, Ambac Assurance Co., Partners International and The Conference Board. As a certified professional coach, she works with clients who are in transition (career / retirement / life).

Barbara earned a B.A. in Biology from Williams College, and an M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University.  She received her coaching certification from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) and the International Coach Federation (ICF).  Barbara is the Co-Chair of the ATD NYC Career Development SIG.

Dr. Bouvier Williams is Sr. Talent Management Leader for the Worldwide Consumer Business at Amazon. He brings a wealth of human capital expertise with particular strengths in areas of personal branding, talent management, succession planning, leadership, talent acquisition, performance management, diversity & inclusion, and mobile & eLearning technology platforms.

Dr. Williams also operates a private executive coaching and human resources consulting firm, Your Personal Brand Solution, LLC which he founded in 2013.

Over the past several years, Dr. Williams has established himself as a thought leader in the field of personal brand development as a means of employee engagement. He is a frequent guest speaker at talent management and learning conferences. Dr. Williams was recently invited to Chair the 2015 Syncota Talent Branding and HR Conference in Boston, MA where he also delivered the keynote address; Personal Branding: The Employee Engagement Tool of the 21st Century. Dr. Williams received his Ed.D. from The University of Pennsylvania. He holds an MBA in Human Resources Management and Marketing from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business.
