Action Learning is a proven and highly effective tool that can be used by coaches to help their clients solve real problems by challenging old, ineffective approaches and deliver measurable results.  It helps:

      Individuals develop leadership skills and improve awareness of how assumptions, beliefs, attitudes and organizational interests influence thinking, decisions and actions.

      Teams to enhance their capacity to reflect on and learn from collective experiences.

      Organizations rapidly solve urgent and important business challenges.


Join us and experience how The New York Library has shifted the learning culture at The New York Public Library by using Action Learning.  The Library’s Learning and Development team will demonstrate how they use it and you will have the opportunity to engage in an interaction presentation and discussion.  Bring your questions and expect to be challenged!

About our Presenters:

Craig Senecal is the Director of Talent Development and Engagement at The New York Public Library. Craig is focused on advancing experiences and skills to increase digital literacy across The Library, and ultimately for its users. He is also the Director for Education and Certification on the national board of the Non- for-Profit World Institute for Action Learning.

Mies de Koning is a Learning and Development Partner at The Library with a focus on Leadership and Organizational Development. He is also the Director of SIG management for the NYC ATD Chapter. He is committed to designing and delivering profoundly inclusive processes for Organizational Development and Learning in Non Profit Organizations. He sees Action Learning as an excellent tool for this.


SIGs are free to chapter members. Non-members may audit one SIG free, then must join the chapter to continue.
