The Talent Development Directors SIG is designed for the leaders of training groups within organizations or small business who come together to learn and share best practices about the management of internal learning and performance operations. About the SIG Co-Chairs 

Robert Baker
Bob Baker is Senior Director, Enterprise Training Strategy at Pfizer. In that role he is responsible for developing long- and short-term strategies for improving the learning experience of colleagues through learning principles, standards and technologies.
His 30 years at Pfizer includes sales, marketing research, country and global brand management as well as new product development. In his last role, Bob developed Pfizer's way of marketing that includes the standards of excellence, frameworks, tools and training that colleagues need to be successful. His team has also created a learning ecosystem with its 4,000 members of Pfizer's Commercial Community to accelerate their professional development and collaboration abilities.

Bob has a BA in Economics from the College of William and Mary, and an MBA in Marketing from Rutgers. He lives with his family in Spring Lake, New Jersey where he is active in his local lodge of Free and Accepted Masons.


Elizabeth McGuire
Liz McGuire is currently employed at The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research as the Senior Associate Director of Human Resources. She is supporting the rapid growth of the organization through change organizational development, the introduction coaching, increasing employee engagement and building learning and development opportunities.

She leverages an MA in Human Resources Management, the CPLP certification as well as the Certified Professional Coach designation to support her role as a strategic business partner for The Foundation.

Monthly Chapter Event: The Now & Next of Learning and TechnologyOpen in a New Window

This Chapter Event, brought to you in partnership with the Director's Special Interest Group (SIG), will explore the changing face of the learning technology landscape. Discuss the technologies that have shifted the landscape of organizational learning;  examine the common characteristics of these shifts and leave the session better equipped to differentiate emerging technologies that have the potential to disrupt organizational learning vs. those that are just hype.

You will leave this session better prepared to stay ahead of the evolving technology curve.

In this session, you will learn:
• How technology can disrupt organizational learning
• Which technologies are shaping the future
• The common characteristics shared by disruptive technologies
• Tips for staying ahead of the technology curve 

About our presenter:

David Kelly is the executive vice president and executive director of The eLearning Guild. David has been a learning and performance consultant and training director for more than 15 years. He is a leading voice exploring how technology can be used to enhance training, education, learning, and organizational performance. David is an active member of the learning community and can frequently be found speaking at industry events. He has contributed to organizations including ATD, eLearn Magazine, LINGOs, and more. David is also known for his curation efforts, especially related to conferences and events for learning and performance professionals.
